Attempted break-in at Bloomfield College reported

Residential Burglary

March 2: A Farmingdale Road homeowner reported someone pried off a screen from a side window of his home, but was unable to enter the home because the window was locked.

A family member who was home at the time heard a noise between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. which may have been the suspect attempting to break in.

March 5: An Orchard Street resident reported a man entered the rear lower door of her residence.
 It is unknown if any property was stolen.

Commercial Burglary

March 5: A security guard reported someone attempted to break into a Bloomfield College building on Austin Place by removing the door hinges and tampering with the lock. The suspect was not able to enter, however.

Stolen Vehicles

March 4: A 2009 black, four-door Honda Accord with New Jersey license plate number ZB533Z was stolen off Liberty Street.

March 5: A 1999 black, two-door Pontiac with New Jersey license plate number YYE25Y was stolen off Oakland Avenue.

March 7: A 2004 white, four-door Chevy Malibu with New Jersey license plate number MZV20N was stolen off N. 15th Street.

Theft

March 3: A Montgomery Street store owner reported a man has been stealing bundles of newspapers that have been dropped off at his store, Bloomfield police said.

March 6: A person reported someone  stole his wallet off the table while in the Bloomfield Public Library.

Criminal Mischief

March 2: A person reported someone broke the rear window of her vehicle on Berkeley Place.

March 3: A person reported someone spraypainted the side of his building on JFK North.

March 6: A person reported someone slashed two of the tires of his vehicle on Jerome Place.

Arrests

March 2: Justin Maldonado of Perth Amboy was arrested for criminal attempt theft and obstruction.

Jonathan Grove of Nutley was arrested for aggravated assault on a police officer.

March 3: Angel Pagan of Newark was arrested and charged with possession of burglary tools, burglary into a vehicle, and criminal mischief.

Richard Pagan of Newark was  arrested and charged with possession of burglary tools, burglary into a vehicle, criminal mischief, and obstruction.

March 5: Marcelo Regalado of Newark was arrested for DWI.
