The area of North 17th Street targeted several times.

Auto Burglary

Police are looking for a man who fled after the alarm on a homeowner’s 2003 Cadillac sounded on Jan. 30.

The Valentine Road resident’s husband went to check out the alarm and discovered a man inside the car. The man fled west down Valentine Road.

Police are searching for an unknown suspect who pried open the driver-side door of a 2010 Nissan parked on North 17th Street overnight on Jan. 31.

The interior of the car was ransacked.

A Garmin GPS unit was stolen from a 2005 Nissan parked on Abington and North 17th streets on Jan. 31.

The door handle and lock were pried open.

A portion of a dashboard was stolen from an unlocked 2007 Chevy parked on Ridge Avenue on Feb. 4, police said.

Residential Burglary

A Berkeley Avenue resident reported an Xbox and $100 in cash was stolen Feb. 3 after someone entered the residence through the front door.

An HP laptop and Nikon digital camera was stolen Feb. 3 from a Berkeley Avenue residence after the apartment door was forced open.

Police are searching for an unknown suspect who punctured holes in several first-floor window screens and stole almost $4,000 worth of items.

Items taken from the Broughton Avenue home Feb. 3 included a brown HP laptop valued at $1,000, a Vivienne Tam HP Notebook valued at $650, a silver Kenneth Cole watch valued at $100 and an 18kt gold bracelet.

Police are searching for an unknown suspect who entered an Ivanhoe Terrace residence through a basement window Feb. 4.

Commercial Burglary

On Jan. 31, a board of education worker discovered tools valued at $500 missing from a locked garage at 240 Davey Street.

Stolen Vehicles

On Feb. 1, a 2003 Ford van was stolen off North 15th Street sometime overnight.

On Feb. 3, a 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass was stolen off Floyd Avenue during the early evening.

On Feb. 5, a 2008 Nissan Sentra was stolen off North 15th Street during the early morning hours.

On Feb. 6, a 1997 Honda Accord was stolen off Lawrence Street during the early evening.

Arrests

On Jan. 31, Michael T. Murphy of Bloomfield was arrested on outstanding warrants.

On Feb. 1, Michael V. Sprague of Kearny was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

On Feb. 3, Edward Scheiman  of Brick was arrested for defiant trespass and an outstanding warrant.

On Feb. 5, Miguel A. Gonzalez III of Bloomfield was arrested and charged with DWI and possession of marijuana.

Joelma T. Freitas was of Hollis, N.Y. was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Roshan Shanker of Bloomfield was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
