Pistol Whipping and Robbery at Broad Street Gas Station

The following information has been provided by the Bloomfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

 

A gas station worker was robbed at gunpoint and pistol-whipped on Sunday night.

The man, an employee of the BP gas station at 560 Broad Street, told Bloomfield Police he was attacked by two men and robbed of approximately $500.

The robbery occurred at about 11:30 p.m., according to a police department report.  Two black men wearing blue hoodies reportedly entered the office of the gas station.  One of the men displayed a silver handgun and announced, “This is a hold up.”

The man said the suspect struck him numerous times, causing severe damage to his lip while the second suspect took the money.

Both suspects fled west on Bay Avenue after another vehicle entered the lot.

Bloomfield police believe the suspects are possibly involved in other armed robberies in the county.

BURGLARY 

Residential Burglaries 

Nov. 30: A man reported someone entered his apartment on the 100 block of North 17th Street and stole two TVs, two laptops, a camera and several pieces of jewelry.  

Nov. 30: A woman reported someone forced their way into her apartment on the 50 block of Park Place and stole a 32” TV and a laptop computer. 

Dec. 1: A man reported his laptop computer was stolen from his home on the 50 block of Park Avenue. There were no signs of forced entry. 

Dec. 2: A woman reported her someone entered her home on the 100 block of Spruce Street through a side window and stole an unknown amount of jewelry. 

Dec. 3: A man reported someone used their car to rip the bay doors off of his residence at 630 Bloomfield Ave. and steal five boxes of cigarettes. Each box contained 18 cartons of Newport and Marlboro Light cigarettes. 

Dec. 4: A witness reported a man smashed the front entry door to a business at 129 Franklin St. and entered the business. Police arrived during the robbery and arrested the man. All merchandise was recovered. 

 

STOLEN VEHICLES 

Dec. 4: A 2010 Toyota was stolen from 54 Summit Ave.

 

THEFT FROM VEHICLES 

Nov. 30: A man reported someone broke the rear vent window of his car on the 100 block of Davey Street and stole a GPS. 

Dec. 3: JFK Nth & Dodd St. A man reported someone broke his car’s rear window on JFK Parkway North and Dodd Street and stole a car stereo and a GPS. 

 

THEFT 

Dec. 1: A man reported his laptop computer stolen from near his car on the 300 block of Hoover Avenue after he went back into his residence. When he returned to his car, the laptop was gone.

Arrests 

Nov. 29: Donnel Wilkins of East Orange was arrested for outstanding warrants. 

Nov. 29: Marvin Perdomo of Paterson was arrested for outstanding warrants. 

Nov. 30:  Kwame Kemp of East Orange was arrested burglary. 

Nov. 30: Jose Casanova of Newark was arrested for shoplifting. 

Dec. 1: Sharleen Samson of Bloomfield was arrested on a disorderly person charge. 

Dec. 1: Eugene Zadra of Garfield was arrested for contempt. 

Dec. 1: Lisa Morgano of East Orange was arrested for contempt. 

Dec. 2: Quawee Gallman of Caldwell was arrested for outstanding warrants. 

Dec. 4:  Jose Chicmana-Guerrero of Bloomfield was arrested for DWI. 

Dec. 4: Henry Chicmana-Guerrero of Bloomfield was arrested for DWI.
