Police Blotter: Busy Week in Bloomfield

The following arrest information was supplied by the Bloomfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

June 21:  A person in the 100 block of Birch Street reported someone entered her garage and stole two bicycles.

June 22: A person told police while she was on vacation, someone entered her Freemont Street apartment through a window and stole antique jewelry.

June 25: A person in the 200 block of Baldwin Street reported someone entered a shed in his yard and stole two extension cords, and two gas cans.

June 26:  A resident in the 100 block of Harrison Street reported someone entered his home and stole jewlery, shoes and cash between the hours of 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

June 26:  A person in the 100 block of Lake Street reported someone entered the home through a window and stole cash and a cellphone during the night.

June 27:  A person in an apartment in the 100 block of Monroe Place reported someone attempted to pry open her front door.  No entry was gained.

June 27:  A person in an apartment in the 100 block of Monroe Place reported someone attempted to pry open his front door.  No entry was gained.

June 27:  A person in an apartment in the 100 block of Monroe Place told police upon returning home she saw pry marks on the front door and lock of her apartment. She said multiple items were stolen from her home including jewelry, an iPod and a video camera.

June 27:  A person in the 100 block of Baldwin Street told police someone entered his residence between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and stole an XBox video game console and game, a laptop computer, a hard drive and jewelry. The homeowner also reported a television and computer were smashed and left in the residence.

June 27:  A resident in the 200 block of Montgomery Street reported someone broke into his apartment between 12:20 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. and ransacked the interior.  The suspect also forced open a safe. However the paperwork inside was left at the location.  It is unknown if anything had been stolen at this time.

 

STOLEN VEHICLES

June 26: A green 1999 Honda Civic was reported stolen on Oakland Street.

June 26:  A black 2009 Infiniti wagon was reported stolen on Maple Street.

 

THEFT FROM VEHICLES

June 21:  A person on Walnut Street reported someone stole her driver side mirror and a cover from around the driver side door lock.

June 23:  A person in the Lackawanna Lot told police someone broke into his car and stole the radio.

June 24:   A woman on Oakwood Avenue told police while she was unloading grocery’s at 10:30 p.m., she observed five white males in her vehicle.  The men fled the scene onto Weaver Avenue.  In the process, they stole the victim’s work identification.

June 25:   A person on Weaver Street told police someone entered his vehicle and stole a wallet, a cellphone, and a navigation unit.

June 25:   A person on Hill Street reported a navigation system and a Ninetendo Wii video game system were stolen from his vehicle.

June 25:  A person in the 200 block of Broughton Avenue reported a GPS unit and an iPod were stolen from inside of her vehicle.

June 27:  A person in the 300 block of Berkeley Avenue told police someone broke into his vehicle and stole $25  in cash.

June 27:   A person on Elmwood Avenue told police his vehicle was broken into and his vehicle’s driver’s manual was stolen.

 

THEFT

June 20: A person on Palmer Street reported he had left a camera bag in his driveway. After returning for it, the victim discovered someone had stolen it. Inside the bag was a camera, memory cards, batteries, a leather case and a color checker.

 

ROBBERY

June 20:  At 5:26 p.m. two men entered the gas station at 630 Bloomfield Ave. in a gold colored vehicle.  One of the suspects the attendant at gunpoint. After the robbery, the suspects drove south on Ward Street towards Farrand Street.

June 21: A person reported he was robbed at gunpoint and struck in the head with the handgun at 9:16 p.m. between the intersection of North 16th Street and Chester Avenue. Both suspects were apprehended a short distance away by police

June 23: A person reported he was the victim of an armed robbery at 1:18 a.m. between the intersection of Lawrence and Dodd streets. While walking on Lawrence Street, four black males exited a black SUV and one of the suspects struck the victim in the leg with a baseball bat.  The victim was robbed of a backpack and credit cards, and an iPod.  The suspects re-entered the SUV and fled on Dodd Street into East Orange.

June 23:  While at a gravesite in the , a woman observed someone in her vehicle. The individual then exited the vehicle, walked towards the victim and demanded her keys.  The victim threw her keys to the suspect fearing that she would be injured if she didn’t.  The suspect then re-entered the vehicle and fled the scene.

 

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

June 23: A person in the Municipal Plaza said between  8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., someone broke the rear windshield of her vehicle.

June 23: A person on Maolis Avenue told police someone damaged the door locks of his vehicle and vandalized the interior.

June 25:  A homeowner in the 200 block of Hoover Avenue said someone broke a window in the rear of her home.

June 26:  A person at the instersection of Florence and Farrandale avenues told police someone poured paint on the windshield of her vehicle.

June 26:  A total of five vehicle owners reported their tires slashed on Lake Street.

June 26: Someone wrote graffiti on the field house at Pulaski Park some time over the weekend.

 

ARRESTS

June 21: James Bittle of Newark was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
June 21:  Patricia Piacenza of Bloomfield was arrested for simple assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and disorderly conduct.
June 21:  Farrod Mosley of New Jersey was arrested and charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, distribution of a controlled dangerous substance within 500 feet of a park, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a weapon in the course of committing a controlled dangerous substance offense, unlawful possession of a weapon, aggravated assault by attempting bodily injury with a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, aggravated assault by pointing a firearm, resisting arrest and possession of prescription legend drugs.
June 21:  Dashawn Jackson of Newark was arrested and charged with armed robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, hindering apprehension by providing false information to law enforcement, resisting arrest by flight and possession of prescription legend drugs of five or more dosage units.
June 22:  Teemiere Goldsberry Parks of Irvington was arrested for criminal mischief.
June 22:  Francis Kwabi of Irvington was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
June 22:  Vincent Pignatelli of Long Branch was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
June 23:  Jonyce Hollins of Newark was arrested for hindering and outstanding warrants.
June 24:  Janice Holmes of Bloomfield  was arrested for outstanding warrants.
June 25:  Keshia West of Paterson was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of paraphernalia, theft and outstanding warrants.
June 25:  India Bridges of Irvington was arrested and charged with shoplifting.
June 26:  Angel Castellano of Newark was arrested for outstanding warrants.
June 27:  Ronald Travato of Bloomfield was arrested for terroristic threats.
