Erratic Driving Leads to Arrests of Drug Dealers, Police Say

Newark men were allegedly in possession of heroin and crack cocaine when their vehicle was stopped early Saturday on Bloomfield Avenue.

Erratic driving led to the arrest of two Newark drug dealers early Saturday morning, Bloomfield Police said.

Raymon Rodriguez and Sayyied Anderson, both 20, each face several charges after a motor vehicle stop on Bloomfield Avenue Saturday at about 5:30 a.m., police said.

Officer Luca Piscitelli saw a black Chevy drifting from lane to lane and stopped the vehicle near Berkeley Avenue, police said. When the officer spoke with the driver, Rodriguez, he noticed alcohol on his breath, police said.

Rodriguez admitted to being only 20 and having had some alcoholic drinks prior to driving his vehicle, police said. Police said while Piscitelli was administering a sobriety test to Rodriguez, he became combative and was placed under arrest.

While searching Rodriguez, Officer Piscitelli found a large amount of money as well as a clear plastic bag containing what was believed to be crack cocaine, police said.
