Obal's Inn Celebrates its 60th Anniversary August 9
One of Bloomfield's favorite restaurant-pubs, Obals Inn, invites all patrons and newcomers to join in the festivities this Thursday night.
Thursday, August 9th will mark the 60th anniversary of in Bloomfield! To honor the occasion, owner Robin Janes is inviting the community to a special evening at the restaurant and pub on Thursday night, August 9.
“As part of our celebration, I would like to extend an invitation to all the people that have supported Obals throughout the years, as well as any newcomers,” said Janes. “Come out and join us on Thursday August 9th to reminisce about years gone by, tell us a favorite story, or just sit back and enjoy a cold beer.”

She added, “As is our tradition, there will be specials and giveaways!”
For the past thirty years Obals, a longtime favorite destination for locals, has been owned and operated by Janes, who bought the bar with her late husband, Ken Janes. Prior to that, Stan & Madeline Obal owned the business, originally known as Marianski's Bar.

Robin, who has resided in Bloomfield all her life, said she is proud of being able to survive over the years in challenging economic times.
"I feel very fortunate that I have been able to run a successful business in my hometown for 30 years,” she commented. “I believe it is a testament to the hard work that Ken & I and our two sons, Kenny & Keith, have put into this business, as well as our love for this town."
