Newark Residents Driving Stolen Car Caught in Bloomfield, Police Say
Driver allegedly tried to hit police with car during chase.
Bloomfield police chased the driver of a stolen car through the township, Bloomfield Life reports.
During the chase, the driver reportedly drove the stolen car into a tree while allegedly trying to run over police on a dead-end road.
Mayen Orellana, 20, of Newark, reportedly first attracted police attention for not wearing a seat belt. After the car was immobilized, Orellana allegedly took off on foot and hid in a cabinet in an apartment complex.
