National Night Out Brings Community and Police Together
Bloomfield police officers and firefigthers will visit neighborhood block parties on Tuesday to promote crime and drug prevention
Strengthening community spirit and preventing crime and drug use is at the core of the annual National Night Out celebration. The Bloomfield police and fire department plan to chip in and do their share on Tuesday.
Officer Kevin O’Connell said a group of police officers will visit several neighborhoods throughout the township and provide free balloons, stickers and other give-aways to children. Firefighters will also visit the neighborhood parties with firetrucks.
The police advise the public to lock their doors, go outside and spend a few hours interacting with the community.
