Brooklyn man accused of trying to return items to Home Depot without a receipt.

A New York man was arrested last week for trying to use a fake ID to falsely return merchandise to a Home Depot store, Bloomfield Police said.

Officer Joseph Corio was working an authorized security detail at The Home Depot on 60 Orange St. when store security told him a man was trying to return $300 worth of merchandise without a receipt at about 8:15 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, police said.

When Officer Corio and officers James Romano and Salvatore Cordi began interviewing Paata Giorgadze, 27, of Brooklyn, N.Y., he became nervous and ran, police said.
