Drug Probe Yields 2 Arrests Near Grove Street Train Station, Police Say

Two men accused of distributing prescription medicine.

Two men were arrested for selling prescription pills near the Grove Sreet train station following an investigation into drug dealing in the area, Bloomfield Police said.

Adam Fennell, 41, of East Orange, was arrested May 23 while attempting to make a hand-to-hand drug sale, police said. He had 20 Xanax  pills, 60 Percocet pills, six strips of Suboxone and nine Suboxone pills when arrested, police said.

Percocet is a prescription painkiller that mixes oxycodone with acetaminophen. Suboxone is a synthetic drug used to treat addiction to opiod-type narcotics such as heroin.

Sgt. Anthony Sisco saw 52-year-old Hillside resident Orlando West trying to get rid of drugs while hiding from police behind a NJ Transit bus stop, police said. West was arrested and found to have 57 Xanax pills, six Percocet pills and 27 Suboxone pills, police said.

The two men were charged with possession of CDS, possession of CDS with the intent to distribute and possession of CDS within 1,000 feet of a school.

Judge John Paparazzo set bail at $50,000 for each with a court date pending.
