Bloomfield Woman Accused of Leaving Toddler Alone in Minivan

Rita Antwi, 24, allegedly left 1-year-old unattended for at least 20 minutes, witnesses told police.

A Bloomfield woman faces a child endangerment charge for allegedly leaving a 1-year-old alone in her minivan for at least 20 minutes.

Rita Antwi, 24, is accused of leaving the toddler in the vehicle outside a commercial building on Route 202 in Raritan earlier this month, according to NJ.com.

Antwi claimed she left the girl alone for "just over a minute" while she ran into work, but two witnesses allege the toddler was unattended for at least 20 minutes, the article reported.
