Bloomfield Man Robbed Bakery Delivery Driver at Gunpoint, Cops Say

Bloomfield man charged in alleged incident last week behind a Franklin Avenue bakery.

A Bloomfield man has been accused of an armed robbery of a Belleville bakery delivery driver last week, Belleville Police said.

Belleville Police Detective John Giacobbe said Sean Crosbie, 20, robbed a delivery driver bringing a truck to the loading dock behind a Franklin Avenue bakery shortly before 2 a.m. last Thursday.

Giacobbe said Crosbie showed a handgun and ran from the area after robbing the driver.

Belleville’s K-9 unit tracked the man’s scent and police alerted neighboring departments of the search. 

Bloomfield police officers Devin Lopez and Thomas Icolari, who were at Clara Maass medical on an unrelated matter, received the description and found Crosbie nearby on Chester Avenue near North 15th Street in Bloomfield.

The Bloomfield officers detained Crosbie until Belleville police arrived and took him into custody.

Crosbie was charged with burglary, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was held on a $200,000 bail.
