$150 Reported Stolen From Cash Register at Broad Street Store

Police Blotter for the Week of April 10. The following information was supplied by the Bloomfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction for any of the arrests listed.

 

A business owner on Broad Street reported that a thief smashed the front window of his store on April 4 and stole $150 from the cash register, according to Bloomfield police.

On April 6, on the 100 block of Belleville Ave., the victim reported that during the daytime hours, an unknown person broke into his basement.  The victim does not know what was stolen from the basement at this time.

On April 6, on the 200 block of Davey Street, the victim stated that between the hours of 12:30 pm and 1:00 pm, an unknown suspect entered her apartment through an open window and stole $5.00. The victim was home at the time of the burglary but did not witness the crime.

On April 6, on Race Street, the victim reported that when she woke-up at 3:58 am, she noticed that her bedroom window was open and the curtains were pushed to the side.  She then observed a lawn chair from her yard which had been moved to a location directly underneath the open window.  It appears that no further entry beyond the window was gained at this time.

On April 6, on Elston Street, the homeowner reported that an unknown person attempted to enter his home by pushing open a bedroom screen and window.  Footprints were observed in the mud outside and markings on the ground matched impressions that were left from the legs of a yard chair.

On April 7, on North 15th Street, the victim reported that an unknown person removed the glass from her rear basement window.  Neither the glass nor any debris was located in the immediate area.

On April 9, on the 700 block of Broad Street, the victim reports that an unknown person cut a padlock and cut copper pipes out of the basement.

Auto crimes

On April 7, on Baldwin Street, the victim states that an unknown suspect entered his vehicle and stole $10.00 in change.

On April 8, on Weaver Avenue, a 1995 Mazda was stolen.

Reports of theft

On April 4, on Carteret Street, the victim reports that an unknown person stole his newspapers from the front of his store before opening.

On April 4, on Walter Street, the victim reports that he placed a Kenmore refrigerator and microwave on the side of his residence. The victim planned on donating both. Upon his arrival home both were gone. A neighbor observed a brown van occupied by two males in the victim’s driveway.

On April 5, on Ward Street, the victim reports that she was washing a client’s hair and removed her Genevia brand watch. When she went to put in back on after she was done the watch was missing.

On April 6, on Augustus Street, the victim stated that an unknown suspect stole a package from her front door that was left by UPS.

On April 8, on Linden Avenue, a victim reported that two bicycles were stolen out of his backyard.

Criminal mischief

On April 4, on Broad Street, the complainant stated that an unknown person broke the window on the front of a business.  No entry was gained.

On April 5, on Newark Avenue, at the corner of Baldwin Street, a vehicles windshield was broken.

On April 6, at Comley Place, the victim states that a taillight and both mirrors on her vehicle were damaged by an unknown person.

On April 7, the victim reported that his vehicle was scratched while it was parked in the parking lot of the Home Depot.

April 4  - Daniel Needs of Bloomfield was arrested for Contempt.

April 4  - Ricky Tate of East Orange was arrested for theft.

April 4  - Juan Montalvo of Newark was arrested for Warrants.

April 5  - Anthony T. Robinson of Hillside was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

April 6  - Richard Maiorano of Bloomfield was arrested for Warrants.

April 6  - Toni Stavalo of Bloomfield was arrested for harassment, disorderly conduct, and possession of a prescription legend drug.

April 8  - Joseph Pezzano of Bloomfield was arrested and charged with two counts of terroristic threats.

April 9  - Estaban Barrett of East Orange was arrested for obstruction.

April 9  - Michael O’Reilly of Jersey City was arrested for Fraud.
