PHOTOS: 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony, Town Green [VIDEO]

For the eleventh anniversary of 9-11-01, Bloomfield gathered to remember the tragedy that changed America forever.

 

Comemmorating the the eleventh anniversary of 9-11-01, town resident gathered in the Town Green on Tuesday night to remember those who were killed in the World Trade Center tragedy and to honor their surviving family members.

Bloomfield resident Daniel Rosetti was killed in the attacks when his son Justin was only a year old.  Now twelve, Justin and his family attend the township ceremony every year.

"Today they did a little prayer in school," said the seventh grader, who attends St. Thomas School.  When asked how he felt about the ceremony he said, "I'm used to it by now."

Mom Christine Jinesta said she was glad the township continued the tradition of holding a ceremony on the Town Green.

"I thought once they did the Reflection Ponds [in New York], it would be over," she said. "I'm so glad it hasn't slowed down."

She added that the family plans to visit the New York Memorial in October.

Another surviving family member, Grace Alviar, attended the ceremony to honor her husband, Cesar A. Alviar. 

"We're here every year," she said. "It means a lot.  I thank the mayor for doing it for the families.  We're very grateful and honored."

She added, "Hopefully it will go on and on, so my children and grandchildren can witness this event."
