Bloomfield Youth Takes Second Place in Gingerbread House Competition
Montclair Cooperative School student and Bloomfield resident Sage Buckley took second place in the Group/Family Category of the Essex County Environmental Center's Ninth Annual Essex County Gingerbread Homes and Habitats Contest.
Buckley and her building partners, Francesca Rosenblatt of Maplewood, Iila Mazie of Oradell and Samantha Cordero of Glen Ridge created a gingerbread house recognized for distinctiveness, creative use of nature theme, use of sustainable building design techniques and skill in decoration.
The awards were presented on Saturday, Dec. 21 at the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland.
