FREE Tennis Play Day at Bill Wing Tennis Academy for 10 & Under Players

The USTA's new 10 & Under format is creating a wave of new junior tennis players throughout NJ.  Bill Wing Tennis Academy with locations at Clifton Indoor Racquet Club,  Montclair Kimberly Academy Middle School and Essex County Country Club  is one of Essex County's premiere programs specializing in 10 & Under Tennis. USTA 10 & Under Tennis is designed for children featuring smaller courts, racquets, transitional balls, simplified scoring system and lower net heights to ease kids into the sport.  Both Roger Federer and Kim Clijsters trained under similar programs in Europe. " The new USTA format is a great way to introduce young players to the sport", says Michele Byrne, Bloomfield resident and 10 & Under Tennis Director at Bill Wing Tennis Academy.    "At a young age, children are now to actually play tennis instead of standing in lines .  For years sports like soccer, baseball and even football have had kids playing on smaller fields with kid sized equipment.  In 2012,  USTA changed the rules of tennis for 10 & Under players, making tennis more fun and easier to learn ensuring young players will return to the game again and again." With assistance from the USTA, Clifton Indoor Racquet Club, home to BWTA's fall tennis programs, has recently completed installing blended lines on all 5 of their indoor courts.  The blended lines will allow the courts to be used as 36 foot courts and 60 foot courts for teaching programs and competitions. To introduce the new blended lines to the community, BWTA will be hosting a free 10 & Under Play Day at Clifton Racquet Club on Saturday, September 14th 2-4 pm.  USTA Play Days are designed to give kids additional court time in a fun, low-pressure, non-elimination setting where they can continue to develop and enhance their skills. To register for the event go to www.bwta.biz or you can call Clifton Racquet Club at: 973-778-7013 for more information
