Family of College Student Hit By Bus Still Looking For Answers

The family of Deshon Johnson, a college student killed by a NJ Transit bus, continues to look for answers about what happened when he died by staging a peaceful protest in Bloomfield.

Some residents say they are pleased about plans for redevelopment in the downtown, which may include new restaurants and a supermarket, but others who attended a forum say are concerned about the ideas.

Howard Haberman complained that the township would not work with him to come up with an agreement to develop property he owns, but moved to condemnation instead. But town officials countered that he had years to fix up his property, but did not do so.

Redevelopment in the downtown is among the top priorities for the mayor as he talks about issues going on in the town during a mid-year interview.

A couple appeals to the Bloomfield Board of Health for the right to keep its pet pit bull after the husband took the husband out of a shelter and trained the dog.
