Heat Advisory Continues Through Tuesday

Patch Provides Some Tips to Stay Safe and Cool.

Yesterday was hot. And today will be hotter. The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for the Caldwells and other parts of the Northeast that will be in effect through Tuesday.

The high for Tuesday is predicted to reach 97 degrees, but 59 percent humidity will make it feel as hot as 101 degrees. Since Monday’s temperature reached the 90s, officials recommend that residents take measures to stay cool and hydrated.

The American National Red Cross suggests wearing cool clothing, drinking lots of water, postponing outdoor activities, taking frequent breaks if you work outside and making sure pets have enough shade and water as well.

They also encourage residents to check on elderly neighbors and to seek air-conditioned shelter if the power goes out.
