The Foley Field Revitalization Committee outlined plans for the next phase of the sports complex renovation at Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting. Green Acres Funding and private fundraising will support the $900,000 project, which includes ticket booths, a press box, a concession stand, bathrooms and a second story addition on the building.

 

Joe Fleres, a former Demarest Elementary teacher from 2003-2011 and a principal in the Prospect Park school district, was announced as the new principal for the Brookdale School.

 

In a Patch Q & A, Councilman Nick Joanow shares his opinion on what Bloomfield needs, and what he thinks it will get.  Topics discussed:  Businesses that will rent space in the new development complex, raising town revenues and ratables, the debate over the parking garage, etc.

Taste it Again, an authentic Jamaican cuisine restaurant on Glenwood Avenue, hosted a giant party to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jamaica’s independence. “Since we can’t go to Jamaica, I wanted to bring a little bit of Jamaica here,” said Taste it Again owner Angela Bredwood.
