The Bloomfield School Board confirmed on Tuesday night that Schools Superintendent Jason Bing had resigned from his position but declined to provide any further explanation, citing contractual restrictions. Bloomfield will hold its Second Annual Restaurant Week from Sunday, Aug. 4 through Saturday, Aug. 10. More than 20 local eateries are expected to delight customers with prix-fixe menu selections.

On Tuesday morning, crews lifted a new press box onto the stands at Bloomfield's Foley Field. The new press box was part of "phase two" of renovations at the field, a series improvements including two tickets booths, a concession stand, bathrooms and a second story addition on the building.
