Busy last week and missed all the Bloomfield news that's fit to be posted?

Here's a quick list of important news last week:

The Bloomfield council tied last week on the promotions of two police officers, sending it back for a second round of voting at the next council meeting, which is tonight.

The tied vote concerned a lawsuit settlement between the town and the affected officers, Sgt. John Sierchio and Lt. Joseph Krentz, who had sued Bloomfield for their promotions and then settled with the town. The council subsequently approved their promotions in January. But the state Civil Service Commission then revoked them.

The forensic auditor will look into the structure and the finances of the department, particularly its past practice of the distribution of personal days for services rendered to the town.

They were struck within minutes of each other.

Glenwood Village, across the street from the train station, is the linchpin to revitalizing the downtown area, town officials said. It will have a mix of apartments, stores, restaurants, and a parking garage.
