Bloomfield Weatherman: No Sign of Snow on Thursday

But Friday is a completely different story.


Don't worry, Thursday will be free of snow. 

The Bloomfield Weatherman expects Thursday to be sunny and cloudy during the day, according to weather.com. The high temperature should hit 31 F and the breeze will be mild. 

More clouds will roll in during the evening as temperatures dip to a low of 28 F. 
There is a likely chance of snow, but not until about 3 a.m. Friday.

The sun will rise at 6:59 a.m. and extinguish in the west at 5:21 p.m. Can you feel the days getting longer? Thursday will have 2 minutes and 21 seconds of more sun than the previous day. 

The moon will rise at 4:37 a.m. and set at 2:42 p.m. Thursday's waning moon will only be about 10 percent illuminated.

"significant winter storm" is expected to hit Essex County from early Friday until Saturday afternoon and could cause blizzard conditions, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS issued a winter storm watch from Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon, predicting 6 to 12 inches of snow and some ice from sleet and freezing rain.

Visibility could be limited to several hundred feet due to heavy snow, sleet and freezing rain. Driving conditions may be dangerous.

Winds are expected to blow at 20 or 30 miles per hour, with gusts hitting as much as 50 miles per hour, according to NWS. The gusts may bring down some tree limbs and could cause power outages.
