A Bloomfield High grad committed suicide and his wife was murdered inside their Parsippany home, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.

A 21-year-old Newark man was arrested on Dec. 29 in Bloomfield for impersonating a police officer and carrying an arsenal of guns and bullets — including hollow-point bullets — in his car, according to police.

Bloomfield Man Accused of Taking Part in Mob-Run Trash Scam

A 77-year-old Bloomfield man was charged Jan. 16 in a widespread federal sweep targeting a mob-run conspiracy to control the trash-hauling industry in New York and New Jersey. 

Two Bloomfield Gas Stations Robbed at Gunpoint

Two Bloomfield Avenue gas stations were held up at gunpoint within minutes of each other before daylight on Jan. 11, according to Bloomfield Police.

The Bloomfield Police Department worked with Newark Police Department to arrest an alleged drug dealer on the border of the two cities at the start of January, according to authorities.  

Another Development Project on Bloomfield's Horizon?

A long delayed development project of a historic Bloomfield building may be resurrected in the coming months. 

Developer Lance Robbins said on Jan. 14 he wants to immediately revive the apartment project at the now vacant South Junior High School. The plan for the building at 177 Franklin St. has sat on the shelf for about four years. 

The 201st year of Bloomfield’s history will bring with it the revitalization of the downtown area, predicted Mayor Raymond McCarthy on Tuesday night. 

The Bloomfield Police reported the following burglaries to vehicles and stolen automobiles during the past week in the township. 

Poll: Bloomfield Council Looks to Curb Commercial Vehicle Parking

The Bloomfield Council may look curb commercial vehicle parking.

The council will consider banning all overnight parking for vehicles with commercial license plates throughout the township.

Linda Strutz Wins Bloomfield District Teacher of the Year

A kindergarten teacher was named Bloomfield school district’s teacher of the year, and will now move on to the statewide Teacher of the Year competition.
