Bloomfield Council Meets on Police Promotions

Plus, free movie showing of "Atlantic City" at the Bloomfield Public Library.

1. The Bloomfield Council will meet tonight at 7 p.m. for a conference meeting, where they will discuss the settlement agreements of two police officers who were denied promotions by the New Jersey Civil Service Commission. The council will also discuss fire department staffing and the 2011 municipal budget, which was rejected by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.

Meeting will be held in Room 205 of the Law Enforcement Building.

2. The town's Special Education Parent Advistory Council is holding a meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at Brookdale School, 1230 Broad Street. All are welcome.

3. Movie lovers are in for a treat. The Bloomfield Public Library is holding a free viewing of the Oscar-nominated movie, "Atlantic City," at 12:15 p.m. today.

Unfortunately, Sally’s drug dealing husband (Robert Joy) returns home with cocaine he stole from the Mafia."

4. Get a free hearing test today at 1515 Broad Street in Bloomfield. Tests are sponsored by Montclair State University and are offered all week as well from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The service, which is open to all, will continue until June 30th.
