Inside Club 4Sixty6, Redefining Nightlife in New Jersey

West Orange's Club 4Sixty6 wins NJ Rocks Awards

Who knew one of New Jersey's hottest nightclubs was right in our own backyard? Club 4Sixty6 in West Orange swept the NJ Rocks Awards, winning for best lighting/sound, best VIP bottle service and best overall ambiance. They were runner-up for best nightclub.

The NJ Rocks Awards, in its first year, highlighted the Garden State's prime nightlife, culling clubs and bars from all over the state. The awards were announced in June.

"We're thrilled, we wanted to separate it from everything else, and we wanted a Vegas style place," said 4Sixty6 owner Ralph Cestone.

The awards spotlight Club 4Sixty6, a young, family-owned venue hoping to redefine nightlife in New Jersey.

"New Jersey is minimized," said Cestone. "We want to show that people in New Jersey are hip, cool, go out and have a good time."

Despite being an $8 million dollar venture and a 20,000 sq. foot club, the employees say the family-run hotspot feels just like home.

"This place is the best I've been involved with by far," said James Patrick, 28, who manages the VIP sections. Patrick has been in the nightlife industry for 10 years. "Everybody likes being here, it feels like home."

Club 4Sixty6 — known to have attracted celebrities such as P. Diddy,  and the casts of and  — caters to all types of people, across race, musical taste and socio-economic status, according to Cestone.

In fact, affordability is a credo behind the club's sushi lounge Logan, and upcoming steak house, Cut. "We recognize the economy is tough now and we'll always be about affordability. You can get a great steak for a decent price, here," said Cestone.

Club 4Sixty6 opened up about a year ago and with a 1,500 person capacity, rakes in 800-2,000 people a week to the two floor club for banquets, private events and celebrity parties.

"Our location is cool because you're away from crazy New York but you still get celebrities so you get the best of both worlds," said Patrick.

While Jersey party life may resound with the likes of fist pumping guidos and guidettes, workers at the club say the "negative perception" is far from reality.

"You find out it's not like that at all, our club has a worldly vibe, you're not on the Jersey Shore, fist pumping," said K-Mac, 35, the technical director at 4Sixty6.

Most recently, the club hosted a private party for West Orange native , the number one pick in the 2011 NBA draft.
