"Music at the Mansion" Series Continues Sunday

April Boyett, Makenzie Caine and Jim VanSlyke will perform on March 25


NiCori Studios and Productions in association with Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center announce a new installment of the monthly concert series, "Music at the Mansion", on Sunday, March 25, at 3pm.  Performers to include classical singer April Boyett, singer/songwriter Makenzie Caine and Award winning singer, songwriter and recording artist Jim VanSlyke.

April Boyett has been featured around the country in both opera and musical theater.  April was most recently seen performing at Carnegie Hall with the NY Pops in a Swingin’ Christmas. 

Makenzie Caine is a Bloomfield resident and just finished recording her debut album of original music set to drop late May 2012.  She has performed in Japan as part of the opening cast of Universal Studios "Monsters Rock & Roll Show," Off Broadway in "The Rise of Dorothy Hale," in numerous episodes of ABC's late "All My Children," and as the star female lead in the upcoming feature film, "Solomon Grundy."

Jim Van Slyke is an Award winning singer, songwriter and recording artist who has headlined celebrated appearances on concert stages around the globe. Recently, Jim has performed the critically acclaimed showcase, The Sedaka Show.  Other career highlights for Jim include his solo performance at The White House and being a featured entertainer for President Clinton's second Inaugural Ball.   In 2006 Jim received a prestigious ASCAP Songwriters' Award for the self penned title track of his stunning debut album, “Open Road”.  Jim’s critically acclaimed album (on the LML Music Label) was named to the Official 2006 Grammy Award Ballot for Best Pop Vocal Album alongside such artists as Billy Joel, Audra McDonald, Justin Timberlake and John Mayer.

"Music at the Mansion" is a series showcasing talented performers from NYC and NJ.  The series is hosted by NYC Cabaret singer and Bloomfield resident Corinna Sowers - Adler who will be performing her own solo show, "By Request" on Sunday, April 1 at NYC's Metropolitan Room.  "Music at the Mansion" features Deborah Martin on piano.

This program is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts and administered by the Essex County Division of Cultural and Historic Affairs.

Tickets are $10 per person and are available at the door or by calling 973-429-0960 to make reservations. Seating begins at 2:30pm.  Light refreshments will be served.
