Children provide a little “heaven” on earth!  New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts (NJSDA) presents “CHILDREN OF EDEN”. “Children of Eden” is a wonderful musical play with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Godspell) and a book by John Caird (Beggars Opera, Candide). Children of Eden uses the Bible as it’s subject matter, but freely deviates in many details, and ultimately is a uplifting story of parents and children without a specific religious point-of-view.  The show is performed by a very talented cast of teenaged pros from NJSDA's ENCORE! Musical Theater Project.   “Children of Eden” is a musical for kids both young and old.

“Children or Eden” features 29 kids from local towns.  The cast includes Stephanie Mautone, Anne Reboa and Amber Smith of Bloomfield, Lauren Barr of Montclair, Lilly Baldassare, Maddy Broderick, and Aleah Colon-Alfonso of Glen Ridge, Angelina Mocera and Einar Gunn of Clifton, Emily Asherl, Henry Gardner and Branden Mangan of West Orange, Kevin Bergen of Hawthorne, Cindy Edwards and Michael Nazario of East Orange, Angelika Anastasia of Lincoln Park, Mitchell Epstein of North Caldwell, Emma Wagner of Maplewood, Katie Suffern of Summit, Miriam Sapozhnikov of Fair Lawn, Chistopher Reeder of Lake Hiawatha, Dana Kluczyk and Mary Sudol of Rockaway, and Aliana Kilmer-Sterakian of Towaco. Also in the cast are Josh Kopen, Jayden Conner, Jarren Bernard, Miles Jackson, Frank Barbaro. The show is directed by Corinna Sowers-Adler of Bloomfield and musical direction by Terri Gorgone of Rutherford.

Founded in 2004, the New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts (www.njactors.org) in Bloomfield, NJ has provided comprehensive professional acting training for adults, teens and children.  More than 1,200 students – some of whom have gone on to pursue professional acting careers – have taken classes at the school since it opened its doors six years ago.
