Essex Photo Club Contest Deadline is June 30

Amateur photographers encouraged to submit images for judging in first-ever competition.

Amateur photographers from Essex, Morris and Passaic counties have until June 30 to enter the first-ever photo contest for the general public offered by the Essex Photo Club with Unique Photo of Fairfield as a co-sponsor.

Six prizes worth a total of $225 from Unique are being offered in the three-section competition. Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity and technical proficiency.

There will be at least one prize in each of three categories: “Generations,” “Reflections,” and “Having a Good Time.” Amateur photographers not currently affiliated with a camera club may enter up to two digital or print images in each category. Winners will be notified by August 31. Entry forms and additional information are available at www.EssexPhotoClub.org.

Two Essex Photo Club members,  of West Orange, club president, and Joseph R. Thomas of Verona, a past president, will judge the submissions. Both are credentialed by the New Jersey Federation of Camera Clubs and together have more than 35 years of judging experience in New York and New Jersey.

Organized in 1949, the Essex Photo Club meets twice monthly at the  in Caldwell. The club sponsors educational programs open to the public at no charge.
