Something Special is Happening at Hot Bagels Abroad

Patch Readers' Choice for Best Bagels in Bloomfield is Hot Bagels Abroad.

It’s hard to know what’s best about Hot Bagels Abroad: the fresh, hot bagels or the people behind the bagels!

When Bloomfield voted this week, Hot Bagels Abroad was the clear favorite.  In fact, last September, when Montclair Patch surveyed bagel makers in the area, they concluded, “we searched for the best bagel in Montclair – only to determine that it’s actually in Bloomfield!  Coming in at a clear #1 is Hot Bagels Abroad (HBA), at 1129 Broad Street in Bloomfield.”

In fact, Hot Bagels Abroad also won the distinction of baking the best bagel in all of Essex County a couple of years ago, when Suburban Essex Magazine ran a .

To be sure, the secret is out that Hot Bagels Abroad is doing something special in their bagel ovens!  But what may be a better-kept secret is how much Hot Bagels Abroad is helping the community.  Just this year, Bloomfield Patch reported that the at Bloomfield High School, and . The establishment even had a giant red drop-off box for toys outside their front door (a familiar sight by now for many Bloomfield residents.)

Bloomfield Patch also reported in November:

“Frank Grauso, owner of Hot Bagels Abroad in Bloomfield, NJ, has been for 4 years, bringing in over 300 life-saving products and helping over 900 patients.

“Frank's incredible energy and commitment to making a difference is the key to the success of his blood drives.  He hands out free breakfast to every donor and never ceases to amaze his spectators with above and beyond entertainment. It's amazing the ideas that Frank can come up with to make his blood drives a lasting memory to his customers and committed donors that come out year after year.”

Congratulations, Hot Bagels Abroad, for winning the Patch Reader’s Choice contest and for making such a fantastic contribution to Bloomfield!

I am glad they do all that good stuff for the community, but their bagels suck, no taste, like eating cardboard.

The staff at Hot Bagels Abroad is always welcoming, the atmosphere is great, usually run into a neighbor or two, and the bagels are great. Judging from the number of people that are lined up every day and from the results of this poll there are a lot of folks in town that all love their bagels.
