Bloomfield Paratrooper Wins $100K in Lottery

A Bloomfield resident who recently won $100,000 in the New Jersey lottery said he plans to donate to the St. Jude charity and his local church.

Jerry Pavlick, 76, was one of the winners in the Feb. 14 Million Dollar Replay grand prize drawing. Pavlick was a semifinalist in the fourth quarter of the game with a Big Money Spectacular ticket entry, according to a statement from the New Jersey Lottery.

"I’m 76 years old, so a lot of stuff doesn’t excite me anymore," Pavlick said. "I used to go sky diving and was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division."

Pavlick said he will "find something to do with it and then invest the rest."

Sandra Brodbeck, of Trenton, won the $1 million grand prize, while Pavlick and Edith Spruill, of Piscataway, each received $100,000. There were also three $50,000 winners, four $25,000 winners and five $10,000 winners.
