Mark Your Calendar!  The next meeting of the Bloomfield Public Library Book Club will be on Tuesday, October 4th from 6:45 until 8:00 PM in the Conference Room.  The topic of discussion will be The Stranger by Albert Camus.

While waiting to be executed, a convicted murderer reflects on his life.  In the space of a few days, he attended his mother’s funeral, slept with a coworker, helped a friend break the law and killed a stranger.  The events seem unrelated.  In this deceptively brief story, Camus explores "the nakedness of man faced with the absurd.”  This 1946 novel is considered an Existentialist classic.

The Stranger is available in several different translations.  Bloomfield Public Library owns critical books that can help explain this unusual novel. Readers are invited to ask one of our reference librarians for more information.

Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.  The Library is barrier-free.

The Bloomfield Public Library is located at:

90 Broad Street, Bloomfield, NJ 07003
