Bloomfield Family Featured on WPIX News

The Gasak family was featured Thursday night in a news spot. Tickets are still on sale for the Beefsteak Fundraiser on June 16th.

Bloomfield Patch has been following the progress of the Gasak family, who suffered a tragedy in 2009 when wife and mother Joanna Suchocka was run over by a car.  Though she lived, she suffered profound traumatic brain injury.  Suchocka's husband Andy Gasak and their two children Matthew and Klara and have been coping with living without her in their lives while attending to her difficult and complex treatment.

Since 2010, Gasak has fought a protracted court battle with her insurance company, which refused to pay for her treatment after a year.  Gasak eventually lost the battle and Suchocka was transferred to her native counrty, Poland, to recieve the care that the family could not afford in the US.
