Spencer Savings Bank, a community bank headquartered in Elmwood Park, N.J., continued its Movies Under the Stars series on Friday, September 6, 2013, by sponsoring Nutley’s Drive-In Movie Night on William Street, in Nutley, N.J. The event, presented by Commissioner Dr. Joseph P. Scarpelli and the Department of Public Works, attracted more than 300 local residents and families.
Spencer Savings Bank supported the community event in the showing of “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” a 1971 musical film starring Gene Wilder, that follows the journey of a poor boy, Charlie Bucket, as he receives a golden ticket and wins the opportunity to tour Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory, along with four additional children from around the world. Moviegoers enjoyed freshly popped popcorn, and cold beverages, and additional entertainment was provided for the local attendees’ children, including bounce houses.
“As a community bank, we are continuously looking for ways to support the communities we serve, and our Movies Under the Stars series is an ongoing program that we look forward to sponsoring each year,” said José B. Guerrero, President of Spencer Savings Bank. “We have a great partnership with the town of Nutley and it was great to see so many of our neighbors out enjoying the perfect weather and a classic, family movie.”
Spencer Savings Bank’s upcoming Movies Under the Stars events include a movie night in Wallington on September 13th, and two movie nights on September 20th in the towns of Westfield and Elmwood Park.
