The Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company (www.cddc.info) has announced the election of Joanne Leone to its board of trustees.
Leone, a resident of Bloomfield, N.J., is a painter, collage and assemblage artist, and an arts educator. Her work has been exhibited at many venues throughout the Northeast including The Newark Museum, Rutgers University, Mutual Benefit Life Gallery, Aljira, Center for Contemporary Art, and the Hilton Gallery in New York City.
She is a former educator in the Newark public school system, has participated in the Artist-in-Residency program through the Arts Council of the Essex Area, and has served as a supervisor with Artists-in-Education Program, New Jersey State Council on the Arts and the Newark.
Leone received a B.A. from Kean University and an M.A. from New Jersey City University and holds certifications from the Art Students’ League, New York City and from the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts. She is a member of the Education Committee of the Montclair Art Museum and the New Jersey Education Association.
