Give the Gift of Literacy!

Literacy Volunteers of America, Essex & Passaic Counties, offers free instruction to volunteers interested in tutoring adults in basic literacy and English.

Your help is urgently needed here in Essex County, where one in every four residents lacks basic English literacy skills, according to federal data.

Knowledge of a foreign language and teaching experience are not necessary. The only requirements are a high school diploma, patience and a willingness to help others.
