Bloomfield Soccer Dad and Award-Winning Comic Stephen Perrotta Will Entertain for Money … to Help Buy New Goals for the Soccer Club

With the Bloomfield Soccer Club on the tail end of an amazingly successful soccer season for both competitive travel and in-town recreational teams, soccer club president Barry Weiner and soccer dad–slash–professional comic Stephen Perrotta (winner of the 2013 Ha-Ha-Holiday Comedy contest) have teamed up to present a night of great comedy, as a fun way to raise money for the club to help buy much-needed soccer goals for the growing club.

The fundraiser will be Saturday, June 7, at ASH Lounge, 142 Bloomfield Ave., Bloomfield. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. (so people can purchase dinner, which is not included in the ticket price); the show is set to begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 each, or just $20 when purchased for groups of eight or more (and there is no drink minimum); tickets can be purchased at LoHudComedy.com, or by calling 845-535-9111. Hurry—seating is limited!

“We’re very excited for this event—we have a lot to celebrate right now at BSC, with a grand slam spring for our program, including our U16 Boys Bloomfield United team being crowned as the 2014 New Jersey Cup champions and now ranked No. 1 in the state,” said Weiner. “Our in-town program is growing by leaps and bounds, and both the in-town and travel programs continue to offer the best soccer experience for the lowest fees of any soccer programs in the New Jersey-New York area.”

Said Perrotta: “My three daughters play travel soccer, and I help coach—so is it any surprise that I would come up with a way to help the club that involves getting out of the house on a Saturday night? I promise a good show—we’ve got a great group of comedians performing.”
