Bloomfield Parking Authority Opens Free Covered Parking For Residents

(Bloomfield, NJ - January 2, 2014) – The Bloomfield Parking Authority is offering free covered parking at the new parking garage adjacent to the train station during the pending storm.

“The parking authority is making every effort to help residents stay safe during the snow storm.  The free parking will also keep additional cars off of our side streets and out of the way of the public works employees who will be working throughout the night to keep the Bloomfield streets passable for emergency vehicles,” said Russ Moserowitz, Chairman of the Bloomfield Parking Authority.

The free parking will be available immediately and be in effect until Saturday morning at 9 a.m.  The new garage offering 468 parking spots serves as the centerpiece of the mixed-use residential development in Glenwood Village.  In all, the Glenwood Village project is a three-acre transit village that, in addition to the parking garage, will contain 50,000 square feet of retail space, 10,000 square feet of restaurant space, and 224 residential units. The site will be comprised of three triangular building encircling the parking garage.
