Weekend Events Include Veterans' Programs, College Volunteer Opportunities

Patch's picks for the day in Bloomfield.

Military veterans will discuss their combat experience and talk about how they used art to cope with those experiences on Saturday at the Bloomfield High School auditorium. Members of the veteran art therapy program the Combat Paper Project will talk from 11:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. as part of the New Jersey Peace Action annual luncheon. 

The Bloomfield High School Varsity Football team takes on East Orange at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Foley Field.

Bloomfield College hold its first “Community Service Experience” Saturday inviting current and prospective students to engage in community service activities from noon to 5 p.m. Participating programs include Miracles for Mateo, which provides snacks to families whose children are undergoing treatment in hospitals.
