Berkeley and Brookdale School Concerts
Patch's picks for the day in Bloomfield include singing and language software.
Bloomfield schools are showcasing their music talent this week. The Berkeley and Brookdale school concerts are on Tuesday, the Franklin and Watsessing Concerts are on Wednesday and Carteret, Demarest and Oak View hold their concerts on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the Bloomfield Library holds MANGO Day, the library’s new online language learning program. The first 44 patrons with current Bloomfield Public Library cards to sign up for MANGO get free Maxell earbuds. The library will also offer free Chocolates and give out a fresh mango every hour.
At 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, music teacher Larry Hunt's elementary school aged students perform music and original skits at the Park Methodist Church on 12 Park St.

The Bloomfield Recreation Department is holding a holiday house decoration contest. Submit a digital photo and/or entry form via email to mschaffer@bloomfieldtwpnj.com or in person to the Bloomfield Civic Center, 84 Broad Street by Dec. 13. The winner will be announced by Dec. 21 and will receive a free family dinner at Angelo’s Restaurant and Pizzeria.
On Saturday afternoon from 1 to 4, Bloomfield’s Children’s Holiday Program will take place at the Bloomfield Civic Center, 84 Broad St. The event includes refreshments, arts & crafts, face painting and bring a camera to get a picture with Santa.
