Bloomfield College's women's basketball team has surged to the top of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, going 9-0, with decisive wins against North Division rivals Felician and Caldwell. Stingy defense - Bloomfield College held Felician to just 33 percent from the field for a 64-54 win Jan. 19 - coupled with Vanessa Lamison's offensive consistency has no doubt been the driving force behind the team's success.Lamison knows she's not playing with the same Deacons (11-5 overall) as last year, when the …
Joey Stefanik’s affinity for bowling began 10 years ago, when he used to accompany his grandparents to their bowling matches. “I started bowling by going to watch my grandparents when they went bowling,” said Stefanik. “They used to take me to watch their matches, and they even bowl to this day.” Now, the Bloomfield High School junior’s knack of consistency has been paramount to some of the boys’ varsity team’s crushing victories, like last Saturday’s 2223-2030 win over Belleville. The squad fizzled in the second half after leading 15-14 going into halftime against Irvington High School Tuesday night. Hanna says a …

Henderson (8.1 ppg) finished with a team- and career-high 24 points in the 91-86-overtime loss. The solid performance also landed him Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week honors. Earlier this week, Henderson recorded a team-high 18 points in BC’s explosive 95-72 win over Felician College, priming the team (6-4 overall, 3-0 CACC) for another tough conference matchup against Dominican College …
