Last Weekend to Take Advantage of New Jersey State Fair Sussex County Farm and Horse Show.
The weekend round up includes new events and some familiar favorites. There’s live music for the whole family, plus baseball, a huge art party, a cat adoption day and more. It’s also the last weekend to take advantage of the NJ State Fair Sussex County Farm and Horse Show.

Why Go: The Bloomfield Public Library Children’s Department welcomes Ronald McDonald for an afternoon of magic for all ages; but depending on your culinary leanings you will either be happy or sad that no food will be provided, just the magic fun of Ronald.

Where/When: Whole Foods, 701 Bloomfield Ave., Montclair. Friday, August 12 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30pm.
Why Go: The chefs at Whole Foods know their stuff, now let them show your kids in a pizza making workshop.

Where/When: Montclair State University, Normal Ave & Valley Rd, Upper Montclair, NJ (Yogi Berra Stadium) Friday, July 29 at 7:05pm, Saturday, July 30 at 6:35pm and Sunday, July 31 at 2:05 pm.
Why Go: See the NJ Jackals take on Worcester. Each game offers a different fun promotion. On Friday there's special deals for Jackals Facebook Fans and giveaways for the 1st 1000 fans. On Saturday enjoy fireworks and on Sunday, it’s Family Fun-Day with $1 hot dogs, post game running the bases, catch on the field and autograph session.

Where/When: Bloomfield High School, 160 Broad Street, Bloomfield. August 11, 12 and 13 at 8 pm.
Why Go: Dr, Seuss’s beloved stories are retold in a fun, musical performance. All proceeds from Seussical benefit Alyssa Andolino 18, of Bloomfield, who is battling mitochondrial disease.
Pricing: Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 for students in kindergarten through Grade 12 and senior citizens.

Where/When: 37 Plains Road, Augusta, NJ 07822. Friday August 12 to Sunday August 14 from 10am to 10pm.
Why Go: An immense variety of activities, exhibits and attractions make up the annual NJ State Fair in Sussex County. Just a few of the highlights include horse shows, a fiddlers' contest, 4H exhibits, an oxen pull, a chili cook off, carnival rides, live performances, a farmer's market and loads more.

Where/When: Trumpets, 6 Depot Square, Montclair. Friday, August 12, Saturday, August 13 and Sunday August 14.

Why Go: School of Rock continues its Saturday shows with the summer boot camp musicians playing alternative and modern rock hits of the past 10 years including U2, Coldplay, White Stripes and more.

Where/When: Ironworks Studio 406 Tomkins Street, Orange NJ. Saturday, August 13 from 11am to 6pm.
Why Go: The tres cool kids that make up Inkalicious are throwing a huge art party with live music, food, skateboarding and Graf contents. There will also be free tee shirt printing and deck painting workshops. Go here for more details on the workshops, contest times and age groups.

Where/When: PETCO, 339 Pompton Ave, Verona, NJ Saturdays from August 13 to October 22 (excluding September 3) from 11:00am–4:00pm.
Why Go: The kind folks at PAWS are holding a cat/kitten adoption events at PETCO every 2nd 3rd and 4th Saturday of the month. Come cuddle with a potential new pet in need of a home or make an appointment to see one in private.
