Development Will Revitalize Bloomfield's Downtown, Says Mayor
The 201st year of Bloomfield’s history will bring with it the revitalization of the downtown area, predicted Mayor Raymond McCarthy on Tuesday night.
During the first council meeting of the year and his State of the Township address, the mayor applauded the township’s efforts in recent years to revive Bloomfield’s downtown.
Drug Dealer Nabbed by Bloomfield, Newark Police
The Bloomfield Police Department recently worked with Newark Police Department to arrest an alleged drug dealer on the border of the two cities, according to authorities.
Linda Strutz Wins Bloomfield District Teacher of the Year
A kindergarten teacher was named Bloomfield school district’s teacher of the year, and will now move on to the statewide Teacher of the Year competition.
District Hires Interim Business Administrator
The Bloomfield school district will have a new business administrator starting next week.
The Bloomfield Board of Education voted this week to approve the appointment of James Verbist, of Paramus, as interim business administrator. Verbist will begin his term on Monday.
Bloomfield Students Place in Forensics Competition
The Bloomfield Middle School Forensics Team won several awards at the Essex County Forensics Interpretive Reading Competition earlier this week.
