Union County Freeholder Supports Rice in Bid for 10th

Mohamed Jalloh, a freeholder from Union County, is the latest Pol to throw Support behind Ronald Rice to fill the vacant seat for New Jersey's 10th Congressional district. 

Newark West Ward Councilman Ronald C. Rice is among four candidates who have thrown their hat in the ring to fill the vacancy created by Donald Payne Sr.'s death in early March.

The other candidates are Donald Payne Jr., state Sen. Nia Gill (D-34), and Newark West Ward Councilman Ronald C. Rice.

In supporting Rice, Jalloh made this statement in a release sent yesterday:

"I’m excited about Ron’s campaign. The residents of the Tenth District, deserve someone who will fight tirelessly for their interest. Ron brings new energy and fresh ideas to the table and he has a bold vision of what the Party can be, and how it can most effectively serve the People. We’ll be working hard to send him to Congress."

Jalloh is an adjunct Professor at Kean University where he teaches negotiation, debate, citizenship, public speaking and communications law, Freeholder Jalloh's private law practice focuses on education law, non profit law, and Charter Schools. Jalloh is a member of the advisory boards of St. Joseph the Carpenter Middle School and Roselle Catholic High School. Among his duties as a Union County Freeholder, Jalloh is Chair of the Freeholder Boards Policy Committee and Liaison to the Work Force Investment Board.

In Essex County, the 10th district includes Bloomfield, Newark, Maplewood, South Orange, West Orange and part of Montclair.  In Union County, the 10th district includes Hillside, Linden, Rahway, Roselle, Roselle Park, and part of Union Township.
