School Board to Hold Special Budget Meeting Tuesday
Board convenes at 7:30 to discuss the unresolved 2013-2014 budget.
Following last week's Bloomfield Board of Education meeting where the board voted down a proposed 2013-2014 schools budget, the Board will meet again this week to discuss the budget again.
The budget was rejected by the majority of board members for the staff cuts it would have entailed. Reacting to the layoffs of teacher and administration the budget would have entailed, it was described as "armageddon" by the head of the district's teacher's union.
The district received an increase in state aid per an announcement following the meeting, but the impact of $500,000 increase in state money is not yet clear.
According to an annoucement by Bloomfield Schools Acting Business Administrator/Board Secretary James Verbist, the meeting will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the Schools administration building.

How about the BOE meet to see how they can live with their present budget or even address issues to REDUCE it.
This idea that the taxpayers of Bloomfield are a never ending source of money for every whim the BOE wants has to stop!

The money is wasted on prepping and taking the state assessment. Its probably in Pearson's back pocket.
