NJ Transit Police identify the individual as 17 year-old East Orange resident.

NJ Transit Police have identified the individual by a train at the Watsessing Avenue Station yesterday as Gerson Tejeda, 17, of East Orange, according to NJ Transit spokesperson Penny Bassett Hackett.

Tejeda was struck shortly before 4 p.m. on Wednesday by a train traveling west on the Montclair-Boonton line. The train, which had just left the Broad Street station in Newark, was schedule to arrive at the Bloomfield station on Glenwood Avenue at 3:55 p.m. It was not scheduled to stop at the Watsessing Station.

The train was carrying 60 passengers; none of whom reported any injuries at that time. The incident resulted in rail delays during the rush hour commute.
