Students who have not re-registered students by September 10 will be officially disrenrolled from school and asked to leave. Their families will then receive notification from Bloomfield School Superintendent Jason Bing regarding status and options.
At Monday night’s council meeting, Bloomfield Councilman Nick Joanow, who is the township’s school liason, warned that the deadline will be strictly enforced by the district. The re-registration policy was enacted this year to prevent out-of-district students from enrolling in Bloomfield schools.

This re-registration is a pain in the neck and rather than make it easy and be allowed to do it within business hours at the B.O.E you have to go on their schedule. I hate the taxes in this town but does the fact that they managed to kick out 165 students mean that this year taxes will drop? Will we be recieving a refund for those students? I'm not advocting that we open our doors to every other city but I wonder how many of the unwanted students would have comeback and contributed to the community who nurtured them?

FWIW, at the 9/11/12 BOE meeting it was stated that 46 hs students were disenrolled. Removing those students doesn't mean there's found money for the district or parents, but it will mean smaller class sizes.
