Good Samaritan Struck in Face with Gun While Attempting to Stop Robbery
Three 14-year-olds were robbed on Park Street near Broad Street on Saturday.
A good Samaritan was hit in the face with a gun while trying to interrupt a robbery of three young men at gunpoint, according to the Bloomfield Police Department.
Three 14-year-olds were walking on Park Street near the intersection with Broad Street at 7:13 p.m. on Saturday when they were approached by two men, one of which was wearing a ski mask and brandishing a black handgun.
The men pointed the gun at the young men and said, “Give me what you got,” according to reports.
While the three teenagers were being robbed, two other men were passing by and attempted to stop the robbery. At that point, one of the good Samaritans was struck in the face with the gun held by the masked man, which caused both good Samaritans to run away.
One of the 14-year-olds then handed over his cellphone to the robbers, and all three teenagers ran away down Broad Street.
The investigation is ongoing, according to Bloomfield police.
