Broughton Ave. Traffic to be Addressed at Meeting
Meeting to discuss traffic on road will be held Thursday from 7-9 p.m.
A community meeting with Bloomfield police to address traffic concerns on Broughton Avenue will be held Thursday.
The meeting will be at Demarest Elementary School from 7-9 p.m.
The residential street that stretches nearly 1.5 miles between Bay and Watchung avenues is often used as a shortcut through town.
Two months ago, 16-year-old Christina Lembo was killed in a car accident on Broughton Avenue. Residents at the time had speculated whether speed was a factor in the crash, with some questioning the need for speed deterrents along the road.

There is no way 7000. Cars travel on Broughton Avenue!!! Maybe if you put the speed bumps, there wouldn't be cars cutting through!!!!

It takes an event like this before any action is ever taken. If any work is done on the street in the name of safety, then it should be renamed.
