Bomb Scare at Belleville High School
Incident reported at 3 p.m.; no device was found
A report of a bomb threat Tuesday afternoon at Belleville High School turned out to be a false alarm, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Belleville Police Chief Joseph Rotunda.
School officials contacted law enforcement after receiving report of a possible bomb at 3 p.m. Most of the students had left the building, but those remaining were asked to evacuate the building according to a source.
At this time, K-9 Units searched the school, but did not uncover a bomb.
This incident is being handled by school officials according to a press release issued by the Office of the County Prosecutor.
