The Bloomfield Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) will host a special autism awareness event, “A Day with Ari Ne'eman,” on Friday, April 27th in the Bloomfield High School Auditorium.
The event will feature guest speaker and self-advocate Ari Ne'eman, President and Co-Founder of the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network and Barack Obama's appointee to the National Council on DisAbility.
“Through his life story, Mr. Ne'eman will divulge the "nuts and bolts" of including students with autism in the general education classroom and the community at-large,” stated SEPAC Board member Hedi Kovacs. “Expect to understand the term, ‘Dignity of Risk.’ Please join us as we celebrate Bloomfield's Inclusive Schools.”
The public is invited to attend either of two sessions on Friday: Session 1 begins 2:45 p.m. Session 2 begins 7:00 p.m.
Light refreshments will be provided. All are welcome to attend this important and informative presentation.
